After visiting Cuba, Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro delivered a message directed at Washington.

"In Cuba specifically, I've asked for two things. I've done two things," said Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia.
"I've called on humanity to stand in solidarity with Cuba, now under violent threat from a blockade, from missiles, from invasion," Petro said.
"And I've called on the U.S. government to build a dialogue among world civilizations," he added.
"Given the threat the U.S. poses to this country, instead of struggling just to survive, [Cuba] should be at the forefront of a broader dialogue," Petro said.
"Due to the proximity of Florida and Cuba, this dialogue could happen here, bringing together the people of Latin America and the Caribbean, and their governments, with the North American governments, to forge agreements that lead us to build solutions for the shared challenges of humanity and the Americas," he concluded.
