At the UN Security Council, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez called on the international community to act to prevent the “human catastrophe” that could result from the ongoing energy blockade and potential U.S. military aggression.

"I'm addressing myself especially to U.S. citizens, and particularly to their youth, and I appeal to their human values, their pacifist and noble sentiments, and I ask them to seek the truth, and not allow themselves to be deceived or manipulated by an elitist, corrupt and powerful Miami clique that isn't representative of the U.S. people, nor of the Cuban residents of this country, who oppose the barbarity of war and the energy blockade," Rodríguez Parrilla said.
