United Airlines to Halt Cuba Flights Amid Trump Sanctions

Jose Martí Airport - Havana

United Airlines has notified the Department of Transportation it will stop its seven weekly Houston-Havana flights starting in September, citing seasonal changes in passenger traffic. A drop in demand caused by restrictions on U.S. travel to Cuba in addition to Trump’s partial travel ban on Cuban nationals has likely contributed to the decision. American Airlines, the leading U.S. commercial airline flying to Cuba, recently announced a reduction of its summer Cuba flights.
