Belly of the Beast celebrated its five-year anniversary in April with a powerful night of documentary cinema at Havana’s iconic Acapulco Cinema. The screening brought together voices from Cuba and around the world, united by stories of resistance, solidarity and truth. Watch here.

I think it’s amazing, a young man expressed.
I would like to congratulate Belly of the Beast on its fifth anniversary. Independent journalism still exists to convey the truth without manipulating information, Murid Abukhater, protagonist of From Gaza to Cuba, commented.
It’s not a documentary about me. It’s a documentary for all the young Palestinians who live under Zionist occupation and who dream to go to universities and want to follow their dreams and their career outside Palestine, and they can't, he added.
They can throw bombs, but they can't kill the spirit of our people's struggle. Long live a free Palestine, and long live Cuba. He speak out.
I know about the work of Belly of the Beast before, because you can find the documentaries really easy on YouTube, Nick, from Germany, stated.
Last year, we were the first time here, and we also saw another documentary of Belly of the Beast.
We knew about it before and it's great work, Nick added.
Their work is phenomenal. From the first series with Liz, they show another reality to people in the U.S. about what is happening in Cuba. Adrienne Pine from U.S. explained.
You're doing a very important job with Belly of the Beast. It's really great that you bring the Cuban reality to the world so that people know the truth about Cuba, Arianne from Germany commented.
I think that’s another example of what Cuba really gives to the world. And people, young people like that need a nest, they need a sanctuary, they need a place where they can go. And that’s what Cuba offers to the world, Kathryn Hall-Trujillo from the U.S summarized.
